Audiobook and voiceover recording, engineered.

Audiobook and voiceover recording on Shure broadcast mics, in a quiet treated room, with an engineer riding your levels while you read.

Audiobook and voiceover recording sessions in our studio run on Shure broadcast mics through a dedicated mixer, with an engineer riding levels and marking retakes while you read. Your script scrolls on a professional teleprompter, so your head stays up and your voice stays open. Separated audio tracks go onto your drive the same day. Sessions are $450 per hour with a 1-hour minimum.

The full chain, camera to edit bay, is documented on our equipment and tech specs page, and the read is captured to spec for the audiobook format. Want video of the read for promotion? The cameras are already rolling in 4K, so a narration session can double as footage for your book launch.

Read with your head up

Paper scripts pull your chin down and close your throat. On our set the manuscript scrolls on the teleprompter at eye level, your engineer controls the speed, and every pickup is marked the moment it happens.

  • Manuscript on the prompter, paged by your engineer
  • Retakes marked live, so the edit moves fast
  • Water, breaks, and pacing on your schedule
  • Founder Loc H. Nguyen is an author himself; long reads are familiar ground here

How a session runs

Three steps from manuscript to master tracks.

1

Send the script

Share your manuscript or spot copy before the session. We load it on the prompter, flag pronunciation questions, and plan chapter breaks with you.

2

Read, with an engineer on levels

You read. Your engineer rides gain, watches for plosives and drift, and marks every retake. You focus on performance instead of buttons.

3

Leave with your tracks

Separated audio goes onto your drive the same day, organized by chapter or spot, ready for your editor or producer.

Booking a full manuscript? Many authors block a half day per section and finish across two or three visits; the batching math works the same way as our guide to recording 90 days of content in one day. Every rate, from hourly sessions to full days, sits on the studio pricing page.

Anything else: call or text (510) 244-8537, or write to hey@bayhauscreative.com.

Can I record an audiobook at your studio?+

Yes. You read on Shure broadcast mics through a dedicated mixer while an engineer rides your levels and marks retakes, with breaks on your schedule and your manuscript on the teleprompter.

Do I need to bring my own equipment?+

Everything is provided: Shure broadcast mics, an audio mixer, and a professional teleprompter that doubles as a script display. Bring your manuscript and a drive for your files.

How do I get my audio files?+

The same day. Separated audio tracks go onto your drive before you leave, organized so your editor or producer can start immediately.

How long does it take to record a full audiobook?+

That depends on your pace and retake rate. Many authors block a half day per section and finish a full manuscript across two or three visits. Your engineer marks retakes as you go, which keeps the edit fast.

How much does voiceover recording cost?+

Studio Sessions are $450 per hour with a 1-hour minimum, engineer included. You leave the same day with separated audio, plus 4K video of the read if you want it for promotion.
